Problem 11.3

Find the change in volume of an aluminium sphere of 0.4m radius when it is heated from0°C to 100 °c?

Solution. .

V1 = 4/3  3.14 r³                                    
V1= 4/3. (3.14)(0.4)³
V1= 0.268 m³
β =3α
β=3×24× 10-⁶
β=7.2 × 10-⁵ k-¹


ΔT =1000- 0=100°c =100k
Using Δv=βv1 ΔT 
   Δv7.2×10-⁵×0.268×100
        Ans is. Δv=0.0019m³
